50 Hour Yin Teacher Training April 2020

This is a comprehensive 50 hour training course in Yin Yoga for yoga teachers and other disciplines such as pilates/fitness teachers, as well as bodywork specialists. You will receive 50 hours YACEP accreditation through the Yoga Alliance USA upon successful completion of this course. In order to receive these credits you must participate in the whole course, this includes homework that will need to be completed on time. 

The programme follows the standards set out by Yoga Alliance in each of the 5 educational categories. Each weekend we will practice living on the YinSide with; meditation, mindfulness, breath work,  hands on experience of teaching and assisting in poses. You will receive a Yin Yoga Manual which we will work through for the duration of the course. 

Yin Yoga Origins
The Principles of Yin Yoga.
Understanding the difference between Restorative & Yin yoga
Intro to Yin/Yang
Stillness and enquiry, discovering a slower pace and the art of doing less

Pranayama & Meditation
Learn the importance of breath and meditation in Yin Yoga
Learn how to develop breath work into your own Yin practice.

Tension vs Compression
Understand the 14 Skeletal systems
Understand the 10 Myofascial groups
Skeletal variations in individuals and how this will effect the shape of the pose
Understanding the key joints, bones and connective tissues (fascia)

Teaching Methodology (Practical)
Sample routines for teaching
How to create quiet in a yin class, understanding pace, voice and music.
How to support students when needed.
Class structure and sequencing.
Learn all of the Yin asanas
Learning the 7 archetypes of all the Yin poses
Transition asanas
Physical and energetic benefits of each pose
Contraindications & challenges for all of the yin poses
Right use and placement of props
How to safely guide students into poses and when/how to offer alternatives

Homework consists of 5 non – contact hours of reading and self practice. 

Certificate of completion will be given upon successful completion of the whole course. You must hold a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate to receive the 50 hours accreditation with Yoga Alliance.
